Shed and roses 2010

Shedandroses2010

Dear Everyone:

When I saw this shot I had
a moment of deep recognition
that I had a shot.

The shot had character and
is even a little haunting.

The colours of red, green and
white add beauty to an image
of rather derelict sheds.
The roses are also a spot of beauty.

Hope that you enjoy this image.

BlushinteriorO'Brien2010

Dear Everyone:

Was struck by colours of beige and blush tones
this week.

I put together a few images for you to
see- a folk art painting, a photograph
of blush-tinged tea roses with a beige
background, a fashion spread of nude/
blush hued clothing (Vogue Australia)
and an interior of blush tones
by noted interior designer Thomas
O'Brien from his newly released book
-"American Modern".

Hope that you find these images
inspiring and soothing.

Have a well-reasoned day.

Helen.

Floral Decay

rosedecay012009
rosedecay022009

I developed an interest in photographing
decaying and fading flowers from exposure to
2 photography books:

Christopher Beane (2008). Flower.
New York: Artisan

Clive Nichols (2007). The Art of
Flower and Garden Photography.
London: Argentum.
These 2 men are the best floral
photographers in the world.

There is something challenging
about the beauty of dying flowers.

These 2 images strike me as hauntingly
beautiful.

Hope that you enjoy them.

Have a never-stop-seeing-the-
beauty kind of day.

Helen.

Reviewed my images and came across 3 more that
I quite liked. They are sort of interesting.
Not the classic single bloom shot.

Hope that you enjoy these images.

Have a stroll-in-a-garden kind of day.

Completed a shoot of roses in the Halifax Public Gardens.
Enjoyed the experience.
These are my best shots. Really like hpg062009-
the pink rose bloom with the purple edges.
Hope that you enjoy these images.
Have a drop-in-to-see-an-art-gallery
kind of day.
