Irisphotoreference2011

Dear Everyone:

This pond with the wild iris is

located in Peggy's Cove.

I had set my heart on doing

an iris painting from the

iris photoreference.

I am pleased with the result.

Enjoy.

Dear Everyone:

Ever since I snapped some photos
of lavender irises in a private garden
I had wanted to paint them.

Here is my iris painting and my
photo reference.

I wanted to play with different
purples in the painting and think
I achieved this.

Dear Everyone:

I spotted a lavender petal of an iris
while out one day. Rounding
the corner of a stone wall
I came across some lovely ruffled
iris plants in a private garden.

Hope that you enjoy
these images.

Sheila's irises

Sheila's irises may 2009
This is one of my floral bouqet series.
I saw a photograph of black irises in a book by my mother
compiling some of her photographs and wanted to incorporate
the irises into one of my folk art paintings. The blue vase in the
painting was inspired by a stilll life by Van Gogh.
I had alot of fun selecting the colours for this picture.
I think the pink background is unexpected.
I hope that you enjoy this image.
Have a finding-inspiration kind of day.
Helen.
