Painting of a bouqet I 2010

Storeboughtbouqet012010

Dear Everyone:

I enjoy using my own photographs
as a reference for my folk art paintings.

Such is the case here.

Hope that you enjoy this image.
It has alot of energy.

Have a follow-your-intuition-kind
of day.

Floral Tableau II (Urban bouqet) 2010

Dear Everyone:

This floral bouqet wanted to be posed
in an urban setting such as in front
of a wall of grafitti. I photographed
the daylilies against a mosaic pattern
painted on a door at the Black
Market store located downtown Halifax.

This is the second in my series
of floral bouqets posed in
outside environments.

Hope you enjoy these images.

Have a notice-new-ideas
type of day.

Did some styling with a bouqet yesterday.

Played around with fabrics and flowers.

Very pleased with the results.

See what you think.

Have a listen-to-your-heart's-desire
kind of day.

May bouqet

I have a bad cold and missed a posting to my blog yesterday, as a result.
Today it was quite funny. I felt this insistent drive to paint a bouqet of flowers.
The floral bouqet I chose to draw was a bouqet we all gave to my mother to
mark/honour her semi-retirement.
I am quite pleased with the result and have set a goal of drawing and
painting a floral bouqet once a day for a week this week.
I hope that you enjoy this painting.
Have a listen-to-your-goals day today.

Helen.
