Vo#042011

Dear Everyone:

This is the 4th face in my series

of images from Vogue magazine.

I think she looks like

a Grecian goddess.

I particularly like the

blue-black hair.

Enjoy.

Fashion as art 2010

Australianvogue2010

Dear Everyone:

I am a late-comer to an interest
in fashion unlike my stylish sister who
read Vogue in her teens.

I now collect Vogue India,
Australian Vogue, ParisVogue,
British Vogue and American Vogue.

This image is from Australian
Vogue. The model on the left
is wearing a Vera Wang silk dress.
To my eye it looks like she is
wearing an abstract painting.

I would wear this in a minute
as it truly is a work of art.
Truly it is fashion as art.

See what you think.

Modern Day Geisha (Vogue) 2010

Moderndaygeishafeb.2010vogue

This image is from Vogue (American)-
Feb. 2010. p. 205

The model appears like a modern
day geisha to my eyes.
I find it interesting for the sake of
the artistry. The pose, the clothing,
the veil, make-up and hair all
strike me with their beauty.

I haunt the magazine aisles waiting for

Vogue -American, British, Australian

and Vogue India. I rarely feel

dissappointed. The images

work as fine art to my eyes.

Hope that you enjoy this image.

Have a keep-your-eyes-open-
to-the-universe kind of day.

Helen.

Fashion image II

vogueamangirijan.2010

I picked up a copy of American Vogue.
The January, 2010 issue.
The most striking image was of a model
in the Utah desert wearing a coral
Yves St. Laurent dress and on her
head a tumbleweed crown.
The tumbleweed was found at
the locale.The coral colour references
to me the red soil and cliffs of the region.

The more I read fashion magazines
like Vogue the more I appreciate
the art installation-like feature
articles and coverage of clothes and locales.

To my mind this image taken at the
Amangiri spa and resort could easily hold
its own hung in an art gallery. And
that is what appeals to me about it.

Hope you enjoy this image.

Calcutta collage 2009

Calcuttacollage2009

This image came to me a couple of
months ago and I have been waiting to
execute it.

The photograph is my own of a dahlia
from a local public garden setting.

The woman's face is of a
model in India Vogue.

Hope that you enjoy this image.

Have a lavender-and-silk
romantic kind of day.

Helen.
