Fashion as art 2010

Australianvogue2010

Dear Everyone:

I am a late-comer to an interest
in fashion unlike my stylish sister who
read Vogue in her teens.

I now collect Vogue India,
Australian Vogue, ParisVogue,
British Vogue and American Vogue.

This image is from Australian
Vogue. The model on the left
is wearing a Vera Wang silk dress.
To my eye it looks like she is
wearing an abstract painting.

I would wear this in a minute
as it truly is a work of art.
Truly it is fashion as art.

See what you think.

Helen.

Dear Everyone:

Came across an uber-talented
Australian artist named Debra Dawes
(1955-present).
Specializing in abstract art
she is widely exhibited and collected
in Australia.

See her web-site at debradawes.com.au
and a few of her pieces here.

Have a let-art-inspire-you kind of day.

Leopard Woods 2009

Leopardwoods2009

I returned to my leopardskin spots

for this image. I saw a blue background

with red marks. Simply making marks

on a page. When I started the painting

the lilac purple and yellow green

suggested themselves.

Is making marks on a page

a primitive need? An evolutionary

drive? I certainly experience it as

a drive.

Hope that you enjoy this image.

Have a let-your-unconscious-take
-the-lead kind of day.

November abstract 2009

abstract032009

This image came to me this morning.

An aqua backdrop with a yellow
and a pink lightning strike line.

When an image comes to me it has no reference
in the real world. It is solely borne of my
imagination.

Hope that you enjoy this image.

Have a treasure the small-moments-
kind of day.

Helen.

October abstract I

Octoberabstract012009

Well I am just playing.

Made an abstract art image.
This is my first effort so be kind.

There is something very enjoyable
about the process of making this piece.

Have a don't-hesitate-to-improve-oneself
kind of day.

Helen.
