Fall poem 2012

Dear Everyone:

We just had torrential rain for about
a week. It was dark and chilly
with the rain. A chat with
a neighbour inspired this poem.

FALL

A month early
Winds raging it feels like November
when it is actually October
Rain and fog another overcast sky
Snowbirds dream of heading South
Daylight seems fleeting
Wake up in the pitch dark
Hear the rain pounding on the roof
A type of day to stay cosily inside
Lost the urge to hurl oneself
outside like Summer
Fall- an apt term as we fall
into darkness
Call it Fall-Call it Autumn-
it arrived with a vengeance

Helen.
