Some of my favourite interior designers.
Those whose career I follow are in this month's
issues of top decorating magazines.
Catch Kelly Wearstler in the November issue
of Metropolitan Home. Her design for her
family's shared beach house in Malibu
is organic and futuristic at the same time.
Then Orlando Diaz-Azcuy is featured
in House Beautiful. The San Francisco
home he and an associate decorated
is calm and soothing, sophisticated
and simple. (see the November issue).
Lastly, Darryl Carter, the look
is spartan and curatorial has
his own residence featured in
the November issue of Elle Decor.
It must take hard work to make a home
look this under-decorated yet coherent.
Enjoy.

Orlando Diaz-Azcuy- Post script
Orlando Diaz-Azcuy
I saved reading my book on noted interior designer
Orlando Diaz-Azcuy until my birthday.
It was well worth the wait and I have been reading
it a bit at a time, project by project, over the last
couple of days.
The author is Diane Dorran Saeks
and the publisher is Rizzoli, New York.
The image above is the strongest image in the book.
It was also selected for the front cover.
The 2 images below are quite stunning
and the designer has a curator's eye for furniture,
objects and art.

The book is well worth perusing.
Have a studying-beauty-kind of day.

Floral Painter Bobbie Burgers
I have a longstanding interest in interior design.
The May 2009 issue of shelter magazine Canadian House & Home
featured a talented floral painter named Bobbie Burgers.
The article featured Bobbie and her husband's weekend home
in the Okanagan Valley.
Bobbie's large bright canvases filled the space.
She has representation at several galleries. Amongst them
was Bau-xi gallery in both Vancouver and Toronto.
See www.bau-xi.com.
This site featured many artists and it was a delight to
look through. However the prices were high.
There are few things I enjoy more than looking
at art and interior design.
Have a looking-at-beauty day today.
