"Faded" poem 2013
Dear Everyone:
This is my most recent poem.
FADED poem
You look blurred round the edges
I would love to paint you in soft,
pastel tones
Nothing bright or jarring
You lost focus gradually
I know because I am a witness
to your life
Does it trouble you to leave
your twenties behind where
you were sharp as a thumb-tack
Aging is mellowing you
Your personality is fading
Your adult son eclipses you
I guess aging affects everyone
differently
Some individuals get more
strident
More assertive
Others more gentle and wise
Don't fade much more
Or you'll dissappear
Helen.
