Dear Everyone:

Puttered around Peggy's Cove
on a recent outing. Took shots
in the village and in surrounding areas.
Ate at the restaurant. Bagels and cream cheese
and lox. Delicious. Visited a fine art
gallery-Jo Beale Gallery and chatted
with Jo and viewed her new work and that
of other artists she carries. Very
Beautiful. Stunning even. Visited a gift shop
and sat on the deck of the cafe of
this shop- Beale's Bailiwick.
Had a relaxed and contemplative moment
sipping coffee.
These 4 shots are from this deck.

Enjoy.

Petunia study II 2010

Petuniaphotoreference#22010
Petuniastudy#22010

Dear Everyone:

This is the first in my series
of folk art paintings of the
unusual petunia I detailed
in the previous blog posting.

I had never seen the colour
combination of lime green and
fuchsia of these flowers before.

The painting insisted
that I use greens for the
background.

The image is rather stylized
which is typical of my work.

Enjoy.

Helen.

Petunia Study I 2010

Petuniastudy#12010

Dear Everyone:

Spotted this striking type of
petunia at a private home.
Returned the following day to
photograph it with the permission
of the owner.

May do some paintings of
these flowers, as well.
The colour combination,
lime green and fuchsia, is so unusual

Dear Everyone:

Some further shots from downtown.
I am really enjoying these urban images
and might try to shoot downtown once
a week or so.
I enjoy seeing urban fashion, grafitti
and murals, house facades, and windows.
Architecture. Religious observances.

Dear Everyone:

Just a collection of images relating
to the Something Blue theme.
The Queen's Annes lace
are lacy like wedding finery.
"Something old. Something new.
Something borrowed. Something blue".
Enjoy.

Daylily Study VI 2010

Daylilyphotoreference#62010
Daylilystudy#62010

Dear Everyone:

A red daylily is the last entry of my
series of daylilies.

This image really pleases me.
I like the complexity of the 3 blooms
and I find the colour combination
to be very interesting-sort
of like 1950's or Florida colours.

To be truthful I am uncertain
how the colour selection presented
itself to me -it just did. It just arrived.

Hope that you enjoy this image.

As summer winds down so will
the daylilies.
